Youth groups interested in applying for a Teen Grantmaking Council grant are invited to participate in an information session on January 7th (6:00 - 7:00 pm) at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, 330 S. Greene Street Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27401. Attendees will receive additional information about applying for money from TGC. The session will be held in the boardroom on the first floor.
It’s #givingtuesday and the CFGG staff is celebrating with the announcement of the new staff giving circle. Giving circles allow donors with similar goals to pool their philanthropic resources and decisions for greater impact.
“A fundamental part of the Foundation’s mission is to ‘inspire giving’. Through our Expanding Community Giving (ECG) program, we are working to show that all philanthropy is valued, and to make it more accessible. The Giving Circle is our way of demonstrating how that works. It wasn’t enough to talk to others about it. We wanted to walk the walk.” said Athan Lindsay, development officer and coordinator of ECG.
The fund was seeded with a $2,000 gift from the CFGG board of directors. Participants will make monthly contributions. The first grant is expected to be awarded on Giving Tuesday in November, 2019.

The Teen Grantmaking Council, or TGC, an initiative of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro and in partnership with Leading to Change, gives high schoolers leadership experience and a chance to meet other teens, voice opinions and make a difference by distributing grants to youth-directed projects that deal with community issues.
